"A contestant on NBC’s “The Voice,” Texas native John Holiday got his musical start at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Houston where is grandmother, “Big Momma,” served as musical director. He later joined the Fort Bend Boys Choir of Texas in elementary school and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas before continuing his studies at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and the Juilliard School in New York.
Holiday is an associate professor at Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music."
